Dr. Michael Jarvis is entering his 17th year in education, 10th year as an assistant principal, and second year as an assistant principal in Hanover County, serving both years at Mechanicsville High School.
Dr. Jarvis is a lifelong Hanover resident and graduate of Hanover County Public Schools. He began his career as a classroom teacher in Goochland County, serving as a middle school social studies teacher. He also taught high school social studies in Hanover County at Lee-Davis High School before serving in his first assistant principal role in King William County. Dr. Jarvis next served as a high school assistant principal in Williamsburg before returning home to serve the students and families in Hanover County.
Dr. Jarvis is a graduate of Randolph-Macon College, holding a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Social Sciences. He also earned his Masters degree in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from the University of Richmond, as well as earning his Doctorate in Educational Leadership & Policy Studies from Virginia Tech.
Dr. Jarvis, his wife, and three children currently reside in Hanover County.
